No F***in’ Ziti: S1 Ep4 Lobsters at The Bing

Welcome to No F***in’ Ziti, the world’s first Sopranos Cooking Show where Mike and Tom form the NotaFoodie Show will be combining two of their biggest loves, great food, and amazing television. They will be cooking through all 86 episodes of The Sopranos.

Although it would be fun to eat nothing but antipasti and gabagool, the plan is to go beyond the “red-sauce” and cook a meal inspired by each episode. Expect dishes like Veal Chops, Lobster, and even homemade Sausage.

In Season 1 Episode 4 of The Sopranos “Meadowlands” Jackie Aprile dies of cancer and 4 out of the 5 Capos(Junior Soprano wasn’t invited) of the DiMeo crime family have a lobster dinner to discuss who will be taking reigns as boss of the family.

During this scene, they are eating boiled lobster. THERE IS NO REASON TO EVER BOIL A LOBSTER. When you boil seafood all of the flavors are lost in the water. So in lieu of boiling this lobster, we will be making an Italian Baked Lobster. When you bake the lobster all the flavors from the Garlic, Cheese, Parsley, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil are absorbed into the meat and really shine through.

Italian Baked Lobster Recipe:

What You’ll Need

  • 1 1/2 lb Alive Lobster
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 Tablespoons of Parsley
  • 1/2 cup Pecorino Romano
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  1. Kill the lobster (hopefully better than I did), split it and clean it
  2. Combine all of your other ingredients and cover both halves of the lobster with them. get deep into the crevices.
  3. Set oven to 425 and bake for half an hour
    Mangiare!!
